Career Description




The individual will work as a team member in an infirmary/clinic setting and within the Medical and Psychiatric Service Program under the supervision of a registered nurse. The position requires a holistic approach to health care service with emphasis on health maintenance through patient education and positive self-initiative. Specific duties include but are not limited to: provision of health care nursing to the resident population; dispensing medication; emergency nursing care; participation in behavioral management procedures and infection control; thorough documentation of patient care and medical records; and individual, group and wellness education. Shifts will rotate approximately two weeks of 6a-2p and 2p-10p.

Student Requirements

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States, andMust be a current full-time student, as defined by that school, in the semester or quarter in which he/she applies for internship, andMust be able to receive academic credit for the internship, andMust be at least of sophomore standing by the beginning of the internship andMust have a cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
