As an Equipment Operator, you will perform highway, roadway, and structure maintenance. This includes operating heavy equipment to perform required maintenance duties like basic snow and ice control/removal. You will complete highway maintenance duties, which include assisting in installing, repairing, and maintaining highway signs and guardrails. To complete these tasks and others assigned, you will operate power tools and other equipment to perform maintenance duties. Part of this job is to keep the roadways clear of any hazards, this includes litter, waste, debris, garbage, and carcasses.You will complete building and ground maintenance duties, and general routine maintenance of the roadway and radio system equipment. You will also perform minor preventive and repair maintenance on vehicles and equipment. Maintain necessary paperwork, including time records, activity reporting, daily diary, road reports, etc. You will receive training and perform construction project duties under close supervision.An important part of this position and the culture at the NDDOT is to maintain a safe working environment for yourself, your coworkers and others.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered as an Equipment Operator II, you must have a valid North Dakota Class A driver license without air brake restrictions and a cargo tank endorsement (N) by the first day of work. In addition, two years of relevant experience or one year of experience and one season of winter operations similar to NDDOT.To be considered as an Equipment Operator I, you must have a valid North Dakota Class B driver license without air brake restrictions.If unable to find a candidate with preferred experience, will consider filling this position as an Equipment Operator in Training, which requires a valid North Dakota Class A driver permit without air brake restrictions and a cargo tank endorsement (N) by the first day of work. As a Transportation Engineer Manager Team Lead you will Provide engineering oversite on all construction projects in the Minot District and keep the ADE & DE informed of progress on all projects. Additional duties include overseeing City and County projects with Federal funds, conducting consultant evaluations at project close, mentoring staff on project management, assigning project resources, and staying current with advancements in construction practices and materials.District ManagementIn this role, responsibilities include supervising construction staff, conducting annual performance reviews, monitoring progress, recommending training, and handling disciplinary actions. This internship will provide quality experience with reading and understanding NDDOT plans, specifications, and standard drawings while assisting with routine maintenance, repair, and installation of signs, guardrail, other safety devices, signals and lighting. Applicants will have the opportunity to gain experience in NDDOT District Sign Shop and traffic control operations.

Minimum Qualifications

* Must be enrolled in an engineering technology or any engineering or graduate degree program.* Requires ability to lift and carry a total weight of up to 50 pounds.* Possession of a valid Class D Drivers License for travel within the state of North Dakota.Requires satisfactory completion of the interview process, successful completion of a job function screening and a verifiable record of satisfactory performance in previous employment.
