Access important information about vehicle recalls and learn how to purchase vehicle history reports.
Vehicle Recalls
Vehicle recalls are at an all-time high in the United States. Millions of unfixed and unsafe vehicles are on the road, some unknown to drivers and owners. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) provides a free vehicle look-up tool that uses the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), which indicates whether a vehicle is under a recall.
NDDOT encourages all drivers and vehicle owners to get vehicle recalls addressed as soon as possible.
Vehicle History Reports
The National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) is designed to protect consumers from fraud and unsafe vehicles, and to keep stolen vehicles from being resold. Consumers can access important vehicle and history information by purchasing a NMVTIS Vehicle History Report through an approved data provider.
