Rail repairs will cause temporary closure of US 52 near Portal

BISMARCK, N.D. – Repair work is scheduled to begin Monday, September 9, on U.S. Highway 52 at the rail crossing south of Portal. U.S. 52 will be closed at the crossing.

An on-site detour will be in place directing motorists around the work site.

The project is expected to be complete by Friday, September 13.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation would like to remind motorists to slow down and use caution throughout the work zone.
