BISMARCK, N.D. – Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, April 22, on U.S. Highway 52 from east of Balfour to Fessenden.
The project includes adding new passing lanes in six locations and four turn lane areas from mile point 141 to 184.
During construction, shoulders will be closed in areas where the roadway will be widened, and temporary lane closures will be in place as needed. During the temporary lane closures, flaggers and pilot cars will be used to guide traffic through the work zone.
The speed limit will be reduced to 40 mph and a 14-foot width restriction will be in place.
The project is expected to be completed this fall.
The North Dakota Department of Transportation would like to remind motorists to slow down and use caution throughout the work zone.
