About The Project

The Sunset Drive Interchange in Mandan was constructed with the surrounding Interstate system, was originally constructed in 1964 and the last major improvement was in 1984 to reconfigure the intersection of Old Red Trail and Sunset Drive.

This project will reconstruct the Sunset Drive Interchange at Interstate 94 and will address:

  • Address pavement at the end of useful life
  • Improve traffic flow and intersection safety
  • Increase the clearance beneath the bridges carrying Interstate 94 over Sunset Drive

Additionally, the project is evaluating options to provide accommodations for non-motorized users. The goal of the evaluation is to increase safety for users along Sunset Drive, whether motorized or non-motorized, and provide more connectivity through the community and across Interstate 94.
