Bracket battles aren’t just for basketball this year — they're hitting the highways! NDDOT and our friends (rivals?) to the south, SDDOT, are warming up for the Battle of the Blades, a bracket-style competition where snowplow names go head-to-head, and fans decide the champion.
Starting Thursday, March 20, the snowplow names from both states will compete in a full-court press for glory. Will North Dakota’s fleet drive to the championship, or will South Dakota bring the heat? The power is in your hands!

How to Play:
- Download and fill out a bracket at dot.nd.gov, predicting which snowplow name will take the title.
- Cast your vote here each week. Voting will be open during the two days each week when NCAA men’s basketball games occur. (You can also vote for South Dakota’s side of the bracket at dot.sd.gov)
- Follow along as names are eliminated and the ultimate snowplow champion is crowned after the championship game! Results will be posted April 8.

- Second Round: Saturday, March 22 – Sunday, March 23
- Snowy Sixteen: Thursday, March 27 – Friday, March 28
- Abominable Eight: Saturday, March 29 – Sunday, March 30
- Frosty Four: Saturday, April 5 – Sunday, April 6
- Championship: Monday, April 7
