Career Description




Work with the Geological Survey's paleontology program to catalog and curate fossils in the North Dakota Fossil Collection.

Duties and Tasks

Organize fossils by geographic locality and sort by species.Assign catalog numbers to fossils and enter the data into the collections database.Construct curation quality supportive cradles for fragile and/or oversize specimens.

Minimum Qualifications

Geology, Biology, or Museum Studies (Both are typical fields for students studying Paleontology)As a reminder, the eligibility requirements for Internship Funding are as follows:Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical program in the United States.Must be a current full-time student. as defined by that school, in the semester or quarter in which they apply for an internship.Must be working in an internship that aligns with the student's academic major or career goals,Must be at least of sophomore standing by the beginning of the internship (or must have completed the first year of a vocational/technical program by the beginning of the internship)Must have a cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.Must have submitted unofficial transcript to verify they meet the eligibility requirements,
