Traffic will switch over to new southbound lanes on Minot’s US 83 Northwest Bypass project from 19th Ave NW south to 4th Ave NW on Sunday afternoon, August 11. Traffic speeds will be reduced. On August 12, Monday evening, 4th Avenue NW will be closed under the US 83 bypass bridges between 7:00-9:30 pm, so beams can be set over the center span of the bypass bridge. The US 83 bypass will remain open, but traffic will not be able to go under the bypass. Westbound on 4th Ave will need to travel north onto the bypass, Eastbound on 4th Ave will need to travel south onto the bypass. Those coming off the bypass will not be able to go under the bridges.
- Speeds will be reduced
- Traffic will be head to head through the project
- Flaggers will be present
- Trucks will be moving in and out of the area with flaggers briefly stopping traffic.
Upon completion of the US 83 Bypass project, there will be four lanes of travel from US 52 and 2 to Hwy 83 on the west side of Minot. The project is expected to be completed this fall.
