On Tuesday, May 28th construction will begin on US Highway 2 in Devils Lake. Work will be done from Cenex West, through town to the vicinity of Cenex East. Earthwork will be done in the median on both ends of town to construct crossovers. Once the crossovers are paved with asphalt, traffic will be head-to-head in the westbound lanes. This will allow us for concrete repairs and turn lane extensions on the eastbound lanes. Once the work is complete on the eastbound lanes, the traffic will be switched to allow for work to be done on the westbound lanes.
Motorists should reduce speeds, follow signs and know that traffic control will change periodically throughout the duration of the project. The project is expected to be complete this fall.
The NDDOT would like to remind motorists to slow down, follow traffic control signage and use caution throughout the work zone.
