The Sign Calculator is a web based database that is used to determine the size and lengths of posts for roadside signs. The support size and length are calculated based on a cross section of the roadway that is inputted into the database.
The User Guide for the previous version of the program has been provided. The information on how to use the program is still relevant, but the user interface screens have changed slightly. An updated User Guide for the new program will be available in the future.

The Sign Calculator program is available on the web on an "as is" basis as a public service for consultants and NDDOT staff and is intended for NDDOT contracted work and use only.
Under no circumstances does NDDOT warrant or certify the Sign Calculator Program to be free of errors or deficiencies of any kind. NDDOT specifically disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
The use of the Sign Calculator Program for work which is under contract with the NDDOT, does not relieve the user from any obligations assumed by the contract, or from complete and proper fulfillment of the terms of the contract, nor does it entitle the user to compensation for damages of loss which could be attributed to such use.
The Sign Calculator Program is subject to change by NDDOT. The user agrees to accept all risks and consequences flowing from or related to the use, retention, distribution, alteration, or deletion of the Sign Calculator Program. NDDOT will in no instance be liable for any loss of profit or other damage, including but not limited to special, incidental, consequential, or other damages, even if apprised of the likelihood of such damages.
