The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) is launching a new online bidding opportunity to customers who are interested in purchasing vehicles from the State Fleet Vehicle Auction. Beginning with the June 5 auction in Bismarck, the event will be simulcast online to provide customers the opportunity to place their bid from anywhere using a computer, smartphone or tablet. The onsite auction will continue to be held at its regular locations in Bismarck and Fargo.
State Fleet Manager, Tim Paul, says the Department is excited to offer this new service to our customers. “This is a great opportunity for the NDDOT and our patrons because it will allow people who could not otherwise make it to the auction, the same opportunity as those attending the event,” says Paul. “It will also benefit the vehicle sale by allowing more people to participate than ever before.”
Paul says customers have been inquiring about this possibility for some time now and thinks many will appreciate the opportunity to bid remotely in the comfort of their homes or office.
The NDDOT is working with Orr Auctioneers of Jamestown, North Dakota, to provide auction services for state vehicles. Customers will be able to view the inventory of vehicles available for purchase at the sites in Bismarck and Fargo from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. starting on Mondays the week of the sale in the city the auction is located in or through the NDDOT website at dot.nd.gov or the auction website at bidorr.com.
