A construction project will begin Wednesday, May 22, on I-94 starting 10 miles east of Beach to South Heart in both the eastbound and westbound lanes. The 41 mile project will consist of a slurry seal on the roadway and ramps. A slurry seal is an application of oil mixed with aggregate to form a thin surface on top of the existing roadway. A slurry seal is similar to a chip seal but does not have the loose rocks.
- Speeds will be reduced
- Traffic will be reduced to one lane
- A width restriction will be in place
- Flaggers will be present to control traffic at interchangesThe project is expected to be completed by early fall.
The NDDOT would like to remind motorists to slow down, follow traffic control signage and use caution throughout the work zone.
