ND Hwy. 41 near Velva temporarily closed Friday morning for movement of equipment


ND Highway 41 from four miles south of Velva to Ruso will be temporarily closed on Friday, September 21 from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to allow the movement of two cranes. Local traffic will be allowed on the highway but will be unable to pass the crane crossing the highway which will be located 1.5 miles north of Ruso.


 

Motorists must utilize an alternate route or follow the 25 mile detour route:


  • Northbound ND 41 traffic will turn west on ND 53 to Ward Co Road 23 where they will turn north and continue to ND 23.  At ND 23 they will turn east to get back to ND 41. 

  • Southbound ND 41 traffic will turn east onto ND 23 and continue to Ward Co Road 23 where they will turn south to ND 53.  At ND 53 traffic will turn east to return to ND 41. 

  • Westbound ND 53 that is traveling from east of Ruso will turn south on ND 41 to ND 53 and follow the detour route for northbound traffic.


The roadway will be opened following the crane movement at approximately 1 p.m. on Friday.
