A segment of ND Highway 20 at the Devils Lake
Underpass will continue to be closed as crews work on placing the concrete for
the project. The segment of Hwy 20 that will be closed is from 2nd
St. NW to 6th St. NE. Hwy 19 will also be closed to through traffic
starting at 3rd Ave. NW. We will be looking to reopen Hwy 19
and Hwy 20 in mid-October on the new pavement. During this closure
traffic will be detoured according to the routes listed below and pedestrian
traffic will be limited to the west side of Hwy 20.
Hwy 20 North Bound
Traffic will be detoured east onto 2nd St NE, then north on 5th Ave SE, and then back west on 6th St NE to Hwy 20.
Hwy 20 South Bound
Traffic will be detoured in the reverse of the North Bound detour.
Hwy 20 NB and SB are encouraged to use Hwy 2 when possible to help limit traffic volume on 2nd St. NE.
Pedestrian will be limited to the west side of Hwy 20 and will be flagged as necessary during operations.
The Devils Lake Underpass Project has
many phases that will require numerous changes to traffic and pedestrian flow
patterns. Motorists should reduce speeds, follow signs and know that traffic
control will frequently change throughout the duration of the project.
