UPDATE: Blocked roadways in north central North Dakota now open

The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) along with the North Dakota Highway Patrol are reporting that roadways in north central North Dakota are now OPEN after becoming blocked due to snow and blowing snow.

Numerous highways were closed/blocked due to blowing snow and the remaining highways have been OPENED:

  • ND Highway 256 now OPEN 4 miles south of Antler

  • ND Highway 3 now OPEN from the Jct. of Hwy. 19 near Esmond to the Canadian Border  

  • ND Highway 8 now OPEN 3 miles south of the Canada border

  • US Highway 281 now OPEN 5 miles south of Jct 52       

All travelers are encouraged to monitor road conditions as weather conditions occur and use caution while traveling. For road information, call 511 from any type of phone or go to the website: Please be advised that road condition information on 511 and the travel map is updated daily from 5 a.m. until 9 p.m. CDT.
