Group names NDDOT top place to work in North Dakota
The North Dakota Young Professionals Network (NDYP) selected then North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) as the 2009 Silver Award for the Top Place to Work for Young Professionals in the state. In 2008, the NDDOT was selected as the Top Place to Work. NDDOT competed among several statewide applicants and was selected by a committee of young professionals to receive this prestigious award.

The NDDOT is an extremely diverse organization that employs over 1,000 employees across the state! These skilled professionals vary in career fields making the NDDOT an employer of choice. Nearly 30% of our dynamic workforce is young professionals; however, they are 100% of our future! The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) has been recognized as one of the Top 10 Places to Work in Bismarck-Mandan by the Young Professionals Network for the third consecutive year. The Bismarck-Mandan group presented NDDOT with a plaque recognizing this achievement.

Area employers were asked to apply for a spot on the list, and entries were anonymously evaluated by a group of young professionals. Also taken into consideration in determining the top places to work was a survey about important aspects young people look at when applying for a job.The survey concluded that some of the things that young professionals are looking for include: competitive pay, flexible hours, continuing education and training, opportunities for advancement, and a positive and supportive work environment.
