2020 North Dakota Voting Requirements

The next primary election is scheduled for Tuesday, June 9. Due to COVID-19, North Dakota voters will be receiving their ballots by mail for this election.

Please note that a North Dakota ID with your current North Dakota residential address must be provided when voting by absentee or mail during this election. To change your address go to https://apps.nd.gov/dot/dlts/dlos/addressWelcome.htm

Acceptable forms of identification for voting purposes include:

  • ND Driver’s license
  • ND Nondriver’s identification card
  • Tribal government issued identification (including those issued by BIA for a tribe located in North Dakota, any other tribal agency or entity, or any other document that sets forth the tribal member’s name, date of birth, and current North Dakota residential address)
  • Long term care identification certificate (provided by North Dakota facility)
